Product Information

A punchy fruiting shrub with evergreen interest and mouth-wateringly good crops of scrumptious fruit. ‘Ka Pow’ is as fun to grow as it is to shout!

Totally unique and fascinating across many months, as softly scented bell-shaped blooms emerge in late spring, with pinkish white petals.

Autumn brings the headline crops of deep red fruit, which make unusual, yet welcome additions to any kitchen garden. These guavas are rounded, with a pear-like texture and a sweet flavour that is hard to match.

Superbly scented, just be sure to wait until late autumn or early winter before harvesting to enjoy the best and sweetest flavour possible.

What’s more, this evergreen shrub isn’t known to shy away at any stage of the year, remaining coated in small leathery leaves regardless of the month and attractive even before and after the guavas have been picked.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready for planting.

Care Information

Planting Advice:

  • If planting outside, choose a sheltered site that is protected from cold winds.
  • Water your potted plant well.
  • Dig a hole a little deeper and three times the width of the nursery pot.
  • Add a soil conditioner such as well-rotted manure to the earth removed from the hole if necessary.
  • Remove the plant from its pot and tease out a few of the roots.
  • Place your plant in the hole at the same level at the pot.
  • Refill the hole with the earth removed (backfilling).
  • Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball.
  • Water well and mulch around the base of the plant with a collar, compost, gravel, bark etc.
