Description

Dramatic spiked blooms rise with stately pride in all manner of eye-catching colours. The ‘Magic Fountain’ Delphinium mix really is perfect for lighting up a bed, border, or patio pot, with excellent shades including blue, purple, pink, and white.

Reliable flower power and something a little bit different - this perennial boasts dense floral spikes that grow vigorously and really draw the eye as they erupt above clumps of divided green foliage, producing vertical style from the middle to the end of summer.

What’s more, this dwarf variety remains more compact than many other Delphinium, so will tower high without the fuss of staking flowers with bamboo and string as they grow.

A colourful option that makes a real impact at the back of a busy border, even holding firm in an exposed or windy spot. Snip some of the blooms and include them in a vase display for an added touch of regal beauty.

Top Tips
  • Delphiniums grow best in fertile soil, so a bucket of garden compost or manure should be implemented around the ground prior to planting.
Care Information
  • Prepare the ground by digging and removing weeds and any debris, such as stones.
  • Individually knock out each plant from its container. Look at the roots – if they are circling around the compost, it is best to tease them out. To do this, push your fingers into the rootball along the bottom edge and pull. Do this in a couple of places. This should encourage the roots to spread into the surrounding soil.
  • Next use a trowel or spade to create a hole just deep and wide enough to set in the rootball.
  • When planting set the crowns slightly above the soil level then firm back around the soil, using your hand for small clumps and your heel on larger areas.
  • Water in well to settle the soil and prevent drying out.
