Robust and popular, Privet Hedging is an evergreen treat, introducing excellent foliage colour to your garden regardless of the month.
Ideal for topiary and hedging, these golden 'Aureum' plants set themselves apart from typical green varieties, with glossy green leaves edged in golden yellow. Easy and reliable, privet is fairly quick growing, soon forming a good-sized hedge that grows virtually anywhere, from sun to shade.
Leave untrimmed to see creamy clusters of fragrant summertime flowers, which pollinators will adore, and will be soon followed by glossy black berries. Small, densely packed leaves are easily trimmed to shape so are ideal for different shapes and sizes of hedge - trim it a couple of times in summer to encourage density.
Privet plants grow well virtually anywhere, aside from overly wet soil, and are even suited to coastal spots. Plants are resistant to pollution, so are a really great choice for town gardens where other plants may not thrive as well.
Supplied as a set of 50 established plants, each approximately 15cm tall, in individual 9cm pots, ready to plant.
Plants are fairly qucik to grow and appreciate a rich soil with a sprinkling of bonemeal to get them off to a good start.
Happy in most soils except really boggy soil, plants should nevertheless be kept well watered until established.
Once established all you need to do it clip your privet hedge in summer using a hedge trimmer or shears. If plants are old or out of shape they can be cut back into old wood as they will regrow.

If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.
Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.
Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
