Product Information

A fabulous double tulip, producing a burst of luxuriant colour in spring, they are perfect for beds, borders and containers.

Their soft, double-cupped, bowl-shaped blossoms and medium stem length make them ideal for cutting.

An easy-to-grow hardy perennial, they thrive in rich fertile, well-drained conditions, enjoying full or afternoon sun. Plant in the autumn for long-lasting, opulent purple blooms in the spring.

Supplied as a pack of 18 bulbs, they are best planted in groups in borders or pots.

Weave them amongst other spring-flowering bulbs for a luxuriant display.

  • Plant in a sheltered position to protect heavy blooms from wind.
  • Add mycorrhiza fungi to the roots before planting to encourage faster and more reliable establishment.

Care Information

  • Plant in the autumn, 10-15cm deep, 10-15cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil in a sheltered spot to protect the heavy blooms from wind.
  • Keep well-watered through the growing season.
  • Remove the flower heads once they have faded and apply a weekly fertiliser for best results next season.
  • Once the foliage has begun to die back, dig up the bulb for storing. Clean the soil from the bulbs and discard any that appear damaged or diseased. Allow to dry thoroughly, then store at 18-20°C (65-68°F), in a dark, well-ventilated place for replanting in the autumn.
