Product Information

A splendidly tall and erect shrub, Buddleia ‘Berries and Cream’ is an exciting take on the traditional purple or white varieties that we’re all used to seeing, growing, and always enjoying!

Arching conical summer flowerheads are each able to stretch up to 20cm long, with hundreds of tiny, yellow-throated magenta-pink and white florets. ‘Berries and Cream’ is striking and unlike any other Buddleia available. A real talking point for your garden.

Exceptionally free-flowering from July to September, the bees and butterflies of your garden will find it completely irresistible! In fact, during six years of trials, it attracted more butterflies than any other cultivar - fabulous news for wildlife-lovers and yet another reason to plant ‘Berries and Cream’ in your garden!

Extremely hardy, this Buddleia will thrive in full sun or partial shade in more-or-less any well-drained soil. It can be grown in a pot, to limit its size, or for adding impressive height to the back of a border. Despite already being a prolific flowerer, deadheading will only encourage even more to emerge.

A deciduous shrub with foliage that transforms into warm shades of orange and yellow in autumn, before falling.

Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, ready to plant.

Top Tips

  • Buddleia plants are low maintenance, but they do benefit from pruning in early spring to maintain a nice compact plant.

Care Information

  • To plant, firstly water your potted plant well.
  • Dig a hole a little deeper and three wider than the nursery pot.
  • Remove the plant from its pot and tease out some of the roots.
  • Place your plant in the hole at the same level at the pot then refill the hole with the earth removed.
  • Firm in the soil with your heel, avoiding the root ball and water well before adding a mulch around the base of the plant.
  • Water well until established.
  • Plant Buddleia in garden borders in any moist, well drained garden soil, in full sun or semi-shade.
  • 'Berries and Cream’ can also be grown in large patio container, just be sure to use a soil-based compost.
  • Prune Buddleia hard in March once the hardest frosts are over, as the new growth begins to show. Firstly, remove any dead, diseased, damaged, or weak stems, before pruning all off the remaining stems back to form a low framework.
  • Drought tolerant once established.
