Indoor Tete a Tete Kit

• Unpack your Narcissus 'Tête-à-Tête' bulbs as soon as they arrive. Plant them promptly for the best results. If you cannot plant straight away, keep the bulbs somewhere cool, dry and well ventilated, away from direct sunlight and frost.

How To Plant:

• Fill the 16cm pot with Premium Professional Compost, leaving enough room to position the bulbs. Plant around 5-7 bulbs in this size pot for a full, attractive display, positioning them with the pointed tips facing upwards.
• Set the bulbs closely together without allowing them to touch, and cover with compost so that the tips sit just below, or are level with, the compost surface. Water thoroughly after planting.
• Any remaining bulbs can be planted into additional containers or outdoors in beds and borders.
• Place your ‘Tête-à-Tête’ pot in a bright position with plenty of natural light, such as a cool windowsill, conservatory or well-lit room. An east- or west-facing window is ideal.

Watering:

• Keep the compost lightly moist while the bulbs establish, but avoid overwatering. Narcissus bulbs are particularly vulnerable to rotting if kept excessively wet.
• Once shoots appear, check the compost regularly and water when the surface feels dry. Indoor pots can dry quickly, particularly in central heating.
• Always allow excess water to drain away and empty any water that collects in an outer decorative pot or saucer.

Pruning And Trimming:

• Remove individual flowers as they fade to keep the display looking tidy, but leave the green stems and foliage intact.
• After flowering, allow the leaves to yellow and die back naturally. This is important because the foliage continues to photosynthesise and replenishes the bulb's energy reserves for future flowering.
  Once completely yellow and dry, the foliage can be gently removed or cut back to the base.

Feeding:

• After flowering, if you intend to keep the bulbs for future years, apply a high-potassium liquid feed every 1-2 weeks while the foliage remains green. This helps the bulbs build up reserves for the following season.
• Stop feeding once the foliage begins to die back.

Winter Care:

• Fully hardy, but indoor displays perform best when kept somewhere bright and relatively cool. Avoid placing the pot immediately beside a strong heat source, as excessive warmth can cause rapid, weak growth and shorten the flowering period.
• For the longest-lasting flowers, move the pot to a cooler position overnight if practical.

If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.
